I Hate Love Triangles.

I must keep it short this time. I typed a full page and it just did not go through. Anyway, yesterday I watched Reap the Wild Wind cast by John Wayne, Paulette Goddard and Ray Milland and directed by Cecil B. DeMille (colour, 1942). To beging with, I hate such films which involve a love triangle and containing romatic rivalry. But there was the irresistable John Wayne! Well Wayne is the captain of a ship to rescue the valuables of wrcked ship. But he gets almost drowned, only to be save by Goddard, who both fall in love. The twist is that Milland, a lawyer, also happens to love Goddard and his love is not left unanswered either! (Sorry, but I just hate love-triangles to bits.) Then both venture to dive deep down the ocean to see if Goddard's female cousin is among the wreckage of the ship. Both are attacked by a giant octupus. Wayne saves Milland's life by his own life. Goddard's cousin is found dead all right and his lover is also killed by bad people on board to replicate a Romeo-Juliet subplot. But Goddard and Milland live happily ever after!
